Frequently asked questions

What is natural skin care?

At KOKO we define natural skincare as the use of skincare products that are formulated with ingredients derived from nature, such as plants, herbs, fruits, and botanical extracts. These products avoid synthetic or artificial ingredients, including fragrances, dyes, and preservatives.

The goal of natural skincare is to harness the healing and nourishing properties of natural elements to promote skin health without relying on potentially harmful chemicals.

Is natural skin care better for you?

Natural skincare is often favored for its gentleness, avoidance of harsh chemicals, and nourishing properties. It can be a suitable choice for sensitive skin and those seeking healthier options for their skincare.

It's essential to read ingredient lists carefully and consider individual skin needs. That is why at KOKO we pay specific attention to being transparent with ingredients, using names you can easily recognize.

Can body butter be used on the face?

Body butter is generally formulated for the body, and using it on the face might not be suitable for everyone. The skin on the face is more delicate and prone to breakouts, and some body butters may be too heavy or comedogenic (like coconut oil) for facial skin, leading to clogged pores.

However, if the body butter's ingredients are gentle, and it doesn't cause irritation or breakouts on your facial skin, you might choose to use it sparingly. It's essential to check the product's label and ensure it doesn't contain ingredients that are known to be irritating to facial skin.

We do offer a Renewing Argan Face oil, that is suitable for most skin types.

Are essential oils safe?

When used properly, essential oils can be a wonderful addition to your wellness routine. These potent plant extracts are derived from natural sources like flowers, herbs, and fruits, and they're prized for their aromatic properties and potential health benefits.

However, it's crucial to use them with care and caution. At KOKO we our products contain essential oils at safe level, diluted with always dilute essential oils before applying them to the skin, and perform a patch test to check for any sensitivities. Additionally, be mindful of using essential oils around children and pets, as their delicate systems may be more sensitive. With a little knowledge and respect for these powerful plant allies, you can enjoy their therapeutic effects safely and responsibly.
